FILMMAKER
Maharshi is a filmmaker from Assam and a graduate of the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI), India. Before film school, he spent 12 years working in children’s theatre as an actor and teacher. His debut feature film Kok Kok Kokoook is set to premiere at the Busan International Film Festival.
His acclaimed short The Horse From Heaven has won at the VGIK Film Festival and the Bengaluru International Short Film Festival, among others. His recent documentary Flowers in a Hailstorm premiered at the Nara International Film Festival, Japan, and he continues to work as a professional screenwriter while developing his next feature.
