Sanchay Bose, originally from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, is a filmmaker and editor whose passion for cinema ignited during his film and media studies in Pune. He built a diverse career as a freelance editor in Mumbai, working on web series, feature films, and documentaries. Notable highlights include assisting Kamal Swaroop on the documentary “Samudra Manthan” (2019) and receiving a prestigious film grant from the Charles Correa Foundation’s Nagari Film Competition in 2021. His short film “Taal Betaal” won the Best Film award. His debut editorial feature, “Kayo kayo colour?,” premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) and earned the Young Critic Choice Award at the Mumbai Film Festival (MAMI). Actively engaged with environmental issues, he edited the upcoming documentary series “Red Not Nation,” focusing on climate change in India. Now based in Jabalpur, Sanchay is in post-production on his debut feature film, Phas Gayi Jal Machri, inspired by his documentary “Taal Betaal.” His filmmaking reflects a commitment to weaving impactful, nuanced stories that leave a lasting impression.
